RCG/RSG Online NSW RCG vs RSG vs RGS The nationally accredited unit 'SITHGAM001' is called 'Provide responsible gambling services' (RGS). In the past (and still in some states) the course has been called 'Provide Responsible Service of Gambling' (RSG), and/or 'Provide Responsible Conduct of Gambling' (RCG). In Tasmania it is a condition of every special employee licence that the individual must undertake a Responsible Conduct of Gambling course approved by the Tasmanian Gaming Commission within three months of being licensed. On successful completion of this course you will receive a Statement of Attainment in ‘SITHGAM001 Provide Responsible Gambling Services You will also receive an interim NSW Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing (OLGR) RCG Courses Sydney certificate that allows them to work immediately in gambling venues across NSW. Even if you do not intend to work in the gaming areas, holding the RCG certificate will mean you can cover breaks and/or shifts for other staff, making you more employable. WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS COURSE?

The course has been designed to satisfy the requirements of clause 51 of the Gaming Machines Regulation 2002. It requires all secretaries of registered clubs with gaming machines, all hoteliers with gaming machines, and employees of registered clubs and hotels whose duties include gaming machine activities to have completed a Responsible Conduct of Gambling course approved by the Casino, Liquor & Gaming Control Authority.Responsible provision of gambling services is an essential underpinning skill for all hospitality personnel involved in the sale and service of gambling activities in licensed premises, including the licensee, gaming supervisors and gaming managers when involved in operational gambling activities.

COURSE OUTLINE

  • Describe the context of gambling in NSW.
  • Explain the indicators and impact of problem gambling.
  • Describe the legislative framework for responsible conduct of gambling.
  • Implement responsible conduct of gambling strategies.
  • List the benefits of implementing responsible conduct of gambling practices.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • There are no formal prerequisite academic or work experience requirements for this course; however you must demonstrate sufficient Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills to be able to successfully complete the training. You need to be skills tested prior to your practical training day. You must either come into one of our campuses and sit the skills test or receive and complete it by booking online or calling us to send you an online booking link. You can not conduct skills testing on the day of training and will not be admitted to training unless this has been completed on a day prior.
  • Legislation prohibits people under 18 from being involved in gambling activities including the operating of an approved gaming machine, however training can be undertaken from the age of 15 and up.
  • You need to provide us with photo identification at enrolment and prior to commencing your training. This can include a Drivers Licence, NSW Photo Card or Proof of Age Card or a Passport.

  • Liquor and Gaming NSW Interim Certificate. The Interim Certificate is used at a Service NSW Centre to obtain your Photo Competency Card.

COURSE DURATION

  • This course is delivered in 1 day, comprising of 6 hours delivery and a 30 minutes break
  • Students are required to arrive 30 minutes prior to course start time for registration and induction.
  • Course can be cancelled if there are an insufficient number of students enrolled in the course. If this is the case, you will be provided with a full refund or offered an alternative date to complete the course.

EQUIPMENT AND MATERIAL

All students will be provided with the required equipment and materials including the Student Manual.
